There’s so much information about the novel coronavirus COVID-19 on the internet that it is hard to keep up with the onslaught of information. We wanted to compile the ultimate list of reputable resources for clinical providers to access when they need to, at a moment’s time.

Since information on COVID-19 is rapidly changing, these resources are not specific papers or blog posts, but rather websites that are maintaining up to date information on epidemiology, pathophysiology, and management. Resources span all types, including website behemoths like the WHO and CDC, as well as twitter accounts for people who get their news from social media.

Since this is an ultimate list but we don’t pretend to have ultimate knowledge of all resources, please send us resources that we may have missed and we will add them on here! We also acknowledge that this list is U.S. centric because we are from the States, but we would love input on resources for other countries so we can make this a more international list.

For the most up to date information:

• World Health Organization (WHO) – no explanation necessary
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – the national public health department in the U.S.
• Your local public health department – will keep you updated on your corner of the world

Epidemiology:

• Johns Hopkins University MapTracker – a live map showing number of COVID-19 cases, deaths, and those recovered around the world
• World Health Organization (WHO)
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
• Travax – travel medicine website with detailed information on COVID-19 and travel-related matters
• Society for Healthcare Epidemiology in America (SHEA) – FAQ focusing on transmission prevention and management

Academic:

• LitCovid – a curated literature hub of all peer-reviewed articles published on COVID-19
• The Lancet Coronavirus Resource Centre – compilation of all Lancet-published COVID-19 related content
• Oxford Medicine – compilation of all Oxford Medicine-published COVID-19 related content (includes Clinical Infectious Diseases, Open Forum Infectious Disease, and others)
• New England Journal of Medicine – has published original articles, perspectives, videos, and interviews on COVID-19
• Journal of American Medical Association – has published original articles, perspectives, videos, and interviews on COVID-19
• Sanford Guide – quick but detailed practical clinical overview of everything you need to know about COVID-19 when you’re taking care of patients with COVID-19
• American Society of Microbiology – focuses on the diagnostic and laboratory aspects of COVID-19 pandemic
• Infectious Diseases Society of America – resource center includes clinical guidelines, recommendations, and up to date payment coverage (!) for COVID-19 treatment
• UpToDate – a clinical summary of COVID-19

Clinical/Practical Management:

• University of Washington – the holy grail of practical documents developed by people who are currently battling a COVID-19 outbreak. All documents can be utilized by others and adapted for their own institutional protocols.
• University of Kentucky – have assessment, triage, and testing algorithms for use
• University of Nebraska Medical Center – fantastic protocols on donning on/off PPE, videos, as well as other in-hospital quarantine protocols
• IDStewardship – a very thorough, but easily read overview of potential treatment options for COVID-19 and how/when to use them
• University of Liverpool – charts on drug drug interactions with experimental therapies for COVID-19
• CIDRAP – focuses on the health policy aspect of COVID-19 news
• Society of Critical Care Medicine – online training modules for disaster medicine, resource availability in U.S., and other fantastic resources for front-line clinical providers

Immunocompromised hosts:

• Transplant Infectious Disease – transplantation society guidelines during the time of COVID-19 pandemic
• American Society of Transplantation – FAQ for transplant candidates and recipients as well as a FAQ for transplant providers
• American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy – interim guidelines for COVID-19 management in hematopoietic stem cell transplant and cellular therapy patients.
• European Society for Blood and Marrow transplantation (EBMT) – Interim management guidelines for BMT patients during COVID-19 pandemic
• American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) – FAQ and the ability to ask your own COVID-19 related questions

Clinical Trials:

• ClinicalTrials.gov – a currently-recruiting randomized controlled trial of remdesivir for COVID-19 treatment
• CURE ID –  an FDA and NIH supported website where you can report and see new uses of existing drugs for difficult-to-treat infectious diseases. Download their mobile app too!

• Virology Blog – blog run by virologists with recent discussions on COVID-19
• ScienceSpeaks – global ID news blog written by physicians
• ChasingMicrobes.com – a weekly update on COVID-19 literature compiled by the Boston Children’s Hospital pediatric Infectious Diseases fellows
• UCSD Peds COVID-19 Educational Resources Google Document – fantastic compilation of COVID-19 resources, including mental health resources and podcast episodes
• Emory Weekly COVID-19 Literature Round-Up – weekly update of COVID-19 literature by Emory ID fellows
• EMCrit Blog – a treasure cove of resources on emergency medicine and critical care of COVID-19 patients
• CardioNerds – everything you want to know on COVID-19 and cardiovascular medicine

Podcasts:

• TWiV – a podcast by virologists discussing virology; with recent episodes on COVID-19
• IDSA Podcast – has weekly podcast series “Coronavirus: What’s happening now?”
• JAMA Clinical Reviews – recent episodes on COVID-19 from various different viewpoints
• NEJM Interviews – hosts short and to the point interviews with world experts
• EMCrit Podcast – EMCrit also has a podcast! Run by Scott Weingart, for those who don’t have time to read.
• FOAMCast (for the interim also COVIDCast) – an EM podcast run by Lauren Westafer and Jeremy Faust, they provide DAILY high yield updates on COVID-19 literature
• This Podcast Will Kill You – Two epidemiologists (both named Erin) provide you with an entertaining summary of new COVID-19 knowledge, alongside a recipe for a Quarantini and a Placeborita.
